Privacy notice
OhmPlay is a free electronics and robotics lab. You don't need an account, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number to use it. This notice explains what happens to your data when you visit the site.
Your calculations never leave your browser
Everything is calculated in your browser (Chrome, Safari or whichever you use). The values you type into the tools, your predictions in the experiments and the results are not sent to any server or saved to an account. They are gone when you reload the page.
Our own code doesn't set cookies or store anything in your browser.
Shared links and embedded tools
If you or your teacher share an exercise with “Use it in class”, the link only carries the numbers and options of the exercise (for example, ?vs=9). Because they are part of the address, they may stay in your browser history and in Cloudflare's technical logs. They never include your name or any other personal data, and the page ignores anything else added to the address.
When a tool appears inside your school's page, your browser downloads it from OhmPlay, but the calculations still run in your browser. That version has no ads and no affiliate links.
Data we receive indirectly
- Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare. As with any page you visit, Cloudflare receives technical connection data (IP address, date, requested page and browser type) to deliver the page and protect it from attacks, under its privacy policy.
- Fonts. The site's fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google and sends it your IP address (Google privacy policy).
- Statistics. We may count visits anonymously and without cookies using Cloudflare Web Analytics, to learn which tools are used. It doesn't store your IP address or follow you across sites.
Advertising and Google AdSense cookies
To keep OhmPlay free, the site shows or may show Google AdSense ads. In particular:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to OhmPlay and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of other vendors' cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
- Ads may also come from other vendors and ad networks that work with Google; each one has its own privacy policy and its own way to opt out of personalized advertising cookies. The list, with a link to each one, is on Google's page about its ad technology providers.
- Google explains how it uses data from sites that show its ads in how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we will ask for your consent through a Google-certified consent message before using personalized advertising cookies. You can say no: you'll then see non-personalized or fewer ads.
- OhmPlay is designed for middle-school students and up, teachers and hobbyists. We don't collect data from anyone, including minors.
Affiliate links
Some Spanish-language pages recommend practice materials with Mercado Libre affiliate links, aimed at readers in Latin America. The English pages have no affiliate links.
If you write to us
If you email us at [email protected], we only use your address and what you tell us to reply. We don't share it or use it to send you advertising. You can ask us at any time to delete those messages, or exercise your rights of access, rectification, deletion or objection under Mexico's personal data protection law (LFPDPPP) and, where it applies to you, the data protection law of your country, by writing to that same address.
Changes to this notice
If what we do with data changes (for example, when we add a new service), we will update this notice before doing so and show the date on this page.
